What if my child won't eat green vegetables?

Short answer

The goal isn't green vegetables as such, it's the vitamins and minerals they bring. Blend vegetables into foods your child already eats, like dal, and keep a little of the vegetable on the plate where they can see it.

The aim isn't to get green vegetables into your child for their own sake. The aim is the vitamins and minerals that vegetables bring, and there's more than one way to get there.

Start with foods your child already eats

If your child eats dal but no vegetables, blend some vegetables into the dal. Mixing them into foods your child already likes is a good way to start.

Keep the vegetable in sight too

Alongside that, keep a little of the vegetable on the plate where your child can see it. Seeing it again and again, without being pushed to eat it, helps them slowly get used to it.
